In Colo. if you leave it out the bears get it quick. A friend lost a whole elk in less than 6 hours.

I do alot of my deer hunting on state land. Well 2 years ago a friend and I went out hunting. My buddy ended up shooting a 6 point but made a bad shot. Well we met up at dark and went to try and track it. Little to No blood. After looking for about 2 hours with no luck we decided to come back in the morning and try to find it. As we are walking back to the truck we hear a pack of yotes yipping. We kinda looked at each other thinking the deer was going to be dinner for them. Cause it sounded like they were where the deer went. Well we went back out early the next morning with a couple more guys and walked the woods. Well we walked up on the deer and both hind quarters are gone. The deer was mangled. He ended up keeping what little meat he could get. But every since then I go out hunting for those darn yotes now. We have got 3 in the last 2 years. Wish I had some pics of em tho.

I arrowed a nice 9 pt. buck early one morning in a swamp. Didn't want to drag the deer through the water by myself so I laid it in the shade. Went to get a buddy. In less than one hour buzzards had picked out it's eye, eaten 70% of the left ham and backstrap.

They ate about 10 lbs of meat in an hour...!

This is a pic of my buddy's bow kill that the coyotes got to before him. He snuck up on this buck one evening on our old lease down in Southern Okla. back in 04 and put an arrow through him. He watched the buck go about 50yds and lay down. He decided to come back to camp grab a cold one and wait on me to get back from my hunt. We went back no more than 45 minutes after he shot him and the coyotes had the whole side of his deer picked clean. It happened to him again in 05 read next post.

This pic is of a doe Larry shot during black powder season one morning in 05. He shot her at about 70 yds she ran about 50 yds into a thicket. While he was gathering his gear he noticed a coyote come out to where the doe was standing when he shot. That coyote followed that blood trail into the thicket and ate a big chunk out of the hind quarter in a matter of 10 minutes.

Yeah, two falls ago my dad shot a 10 pointer and it was almost dark, he called a few of us to come help him out (because he was doing chemo for cancer) and we all grabbed some flashlights and got everything together to march through the woods... All of a sudden we saw something moving infront of us and something running around behind us, we thought the deer was still alive but by the trail of blood, there was NO WAY that thing was still alive, Needless to say.. We found the deer, surrounded by a pack of wolves! It was pretty creepy... There was four of us and we were all pretty scared because we had no weaponry except a buck knife.. No pictures either, because we weren't expecing anything to be there...

Happend to my buddies girlfriend. Last year she arrowed her first buck, they tracked it for a while and decided to come back in the morning to find the buck. 20 yards further from where they stopped was the buck and the coyotes had ate the hind quarters.

There were wolves couldn't have been over a mile away when I was at my mom's house.. You could hear them howling at like 10 PM the dog wanted to go outside, it was pretty scary.. Them mailman hit one with his truck the other day... I'm not a fan anyway...
