Watched a rerun show on the Discovery Channel called "The Pig Bomb" and the way they made it sound, you boy's down from Florida to New Mexico can't even walk down the road  or in the wood's without the threat of being attack by a pack of Pigs, It's like walking down a street in Detroit and being worried about an attack by a pack of wild & stray Dog's and that would be the least of your worries!

Hybrid Pig's that are getting Bigger, Faster & Run Forever, and nothing is stopping them, Trapping, Running with Dog's, Thermal Night Vision Hunting, and after 5 months old they are able to reproduce 5-8 offspring at a time.  It sounds like there is no resolve and this is a GROWING OUT OF CONTROL PROBLEM for Y'all.

I know they are in 42 of our States but is it really that bad down south?

That was a good show. Read a thread on M-S, talks about MI problem http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194817 .
Call Wildside Archery and we will take care of the problem.
Here in Louisiana, they are way out of control in certain parishes. Mine is one of them. We can't plant or feed anything due to the pigs. The will root up a food plot the very night after you plant it. They can eat over a hundred pounds of corn in one night. It seems like for every one that you kill or trap, a dozen more show up. Louisiana has actually inacted a law that will let us get a special permit from the LDWF that will allow us to hunt them at night for 5 consecutive nights. We actually planted a family garden by our pond and it was ruined in the first week, they actually rooted under a fence and a hot wire to get to it. I used to think it was nice having them around, because it gave you something else to hunt in the off season, but now I wish I had never seen them. The worst thing about them, is that we don't have any turkeys or quail in our area, because they will root up the nest and eat all the eggs.
Well, we got a lot of pigs, and they are definitively a nuisance! My Brother-in-law who farms and ranches, lost over a third of his corn crop last year to Hogs! That was over 500 acres! Big hit to the pocket book! I hit one during a rain storm last spring with our Explorer! Did over $ 3,500.00 damage to the automobile! Now the trouble with the pigs is they have become almost totally nocturnal! So when we go out to thin the herd we usually only have an opportunity at one or two shots and they are gone! If you do find them in the day time then it is the same thing except depending on the amount of shooters you have, depends on the number of pigs you can drop! I have been lucky enough on three occasions to get shooting in the daytime. As they seem to be hurrying from one place to another and hitting them on the run at 300+ yards is a lot of fun but not really practical! Something has got to be done about the pigs!
We also have the wild pigs running here in Michigan but we can't even hold a candle to the spreading epidemic Y'all have there........GOOD LUCK!
I guess about the only parallel we here in Michigan can draw is the one between our invasive species in our Great Lakes. We have had to adapt to many and some have had a somewhat good impact, like the zebra muscles as far as cleaning up the water. But our biggest fear is the Asian Carp right now and low & behold just today, our Governor said " I usually agree with the Obama Admin 99% of the time but on this one I do not". as far as shutting down the locks to the Great Lakes on occasion to help reduce their influx, I think she final gets it on this one, she understands we have to stop this threat to our fishing industry anyway we can, and if shutting down the locks will help then so be it.
Well it looks like Michigan is going to finally get some HELP for our threatening Water Pig problem, surprised & amazed it's going to happen, now what will happen is the question! Glad Jenny got this one right and stood up to the Admin.
