Hey all. I am looking for some help from a few hunters that hunt in or around the Allegan Game area. Not looking for a secret spot or to tag along. I am looking for hunters to pose for some photographs I want to take of spring Turkey hunters. I am not a professional, just an amateur interested in trying something new.

We would meet in a spot agreed on beforehand (preferably away from your or my hunting area, not looking for spots or to scare off birds). We would get some shots of the hunter(s) all camo'd up, with gun/bow, in a setting similar to what you hunt in... possibly even with your bird, if luckily enough to get one.

In return for your time, the hunter(s) would get a copy of the finished photo(s) (probably in digital format via email) and I would gain some experience in this style of photography. No money or fees, just a little bit of your time.

If you hunt in this area and are interested in "modeling" please email me at alleganbowhunter@gmail.com and we will see what we can work out with our schedules. Thanks! John

Any bird hunters out there? I just got a lab pup and would like to either learn to train him or get him trained for waterfowl or upland. Any ideas or info? I'd appreciate it!

The Kzoo Trad Archery Expo is next weekend, Jan 29 to 31, at the Kzoo County Fairgrounds. The expo is one of the best places to check out and try ( yes shoot them) new bows, accessories and nearly anything you could need reltaed to traditional archery.

There is a shooting area for the kids, flint knapping, leather goods, broadhead collection, Fred Bear and Howard Hill displays and my favorite part an awesome group seminars and workshops by some of the best speakers.

If ya haven't been and aren't busy I highly recommend checking it out.

Check this link for more info. http://gnbco.com/expo.htm

Jason:

What state land are you hunting? The opener of gun season can be a bear on most state spots in the south, even if you go deep. If you can hunt during the week You will avoid a lot of the crowd.

I don't have any sure fire spots to give ya. Send me a message maybe we can meet up for a hunt. Keep your head up, take your boy with you on a hunt, even if it is short he will likely have a blast with his dad. Happy Hunting!
