Harold I think you will like it, I will be posting some short video clips from a long movie I made for the outdoor shows we do you can see some of the transitions and titling effects as well as a few other tricks let me know what questions you have
It takes time to learn how to edit. Not something that's going to happen over night. What I say is do it and you will learn it. I have not used pinnacle 12 but I hear it works well.
I use Pinnacle 12 as well and the Studio series is all I've ever used. I started trying to edit about 5 years ago and am just beginning to get sorta comfortable. It'll do anything I can think of and I'm sure a lot more that I don't have a clue about! LOL!! I just need a dedicated computer system for editing..... with a LOT of RAM and 64 bit processing!
Tucker, What are you using to edit yours?
Harold, I use Adoby and Avid Liquid 7. Like Kelly said, have a system for just editing isn't a bad idea. I'm am going to Mac this week with Final Cut Express. After talking to Paul Bigs at the ATA convention he said mac is the way to go for video editing.
Thank you Tucker Time, I am sure we all appreciate the input, I have tried Adobe, and Movie Maker, and Pixela, and now the Pinnacle 12 for film, and I still like the old version of HP Photo & Imaging for pictures as It is the first one I ever used and I guess my patience was better then because I really took the time to learn it well since it was the only one available to me.
In all my years experience ( which is still extremely limited) I think you have to play with the software and really understand it to do a good job. Don't do like I have done and switch around looking for that magic bullet that makes it so easy and simple you really are doing nothing but cut and paste. Your work will end up looking like cut and paste and my granddaughter who is 13 can do a much better job because she only has used one program and she definitely can do a much better job than I can. Can't teach an old dog new tricks unless they want to learn. Happy editing to all!
I agree. It's an art! I see not so good footage from expensive cams and I see not so good editing from pricy software. The thing is some people got it and some people don't. It's not what you spent on your canvis it's what you painted that counts. my 2cents.
Tucker you say you can't learn it over nite but some of us have a faster learning curve than u do lol
And some even slower than me. lol
I will be the one slower than Tucker! I am still trying to learn Pinnacle 12 by the time I learn how to use it I am sure it will be Pinnacle 28 or later!
I have Pinnacle studio 10 and Vegas studio platinum. Pinnacle is much more user friendly, but seems to have low quality finished product. I have not even had the patience to learn all the in's and out's of of Sony Vegas!
