Anybody having any luck finding dove in ne Oklahoma? We seen quite a few two weeks ago, but when the hot weather broke and the rain moved in they disappeared. Not sure if they went south or what. Looking forwardto downing some birds though.

The bucks are definitely on the move. Saw 3 Bucks today and 2 maybe 3 Does. I got snorted at several times but not on every sighting. 1 Four Point buck was in within 10 yards but was too young. I watched him for quite a while. Here is something funny for me, this is the special encounter. I waited till about 10:20 to get out my stand, dropped the bow on the rope, climbed down, notch an arrow and turned around only to see a buck staring at me. If only I had waited just a little bit longer dang it! At first I thought it was the young buck that came early till he turned his head and I saw a big rack, hard to be certain but it had to be a 10 point. Wooded area made it difficult to be certain at the range which was about 40 yards out. I suspect he have seen me when I saw him. I did not move for what seemed 10 minutes and he was studying me as well. After a bit he began to move towards me little by little. I had a bucket feeder and about an hour before I let go of the rest of my Buck Bomb Dominate Buck, buck was upwind but I wondered if he was catching the scent between the calms or headed for the feeder. When he got about 20 plus yards from me, he turned sideways and I drew and let loose. Missed under his belly. My first shot on a deer with my bow and it was a decent looking deer. Miss or not, it was fun. I know where I am going tomorrow.

I am seeing signs of Deer movement. Twice recently seen dead deer on the Road. Would I be correct to say this is because the rut is almost here?

Looking for perspectives. I wasn't able to get out and do any scouting for signs and hanging stands this summer. Hunting is fairly new to me so I am still learning. Got 2 stands ready to hang but it is getting close to the rut. Is there any advise on hanging the stands this late in the year without an absolute negative impact to successful hunting? My spot for my tree stand is near the outer tree line, near crossing point between fields. Rancher just pulled his cattle off the acreage and has driven close to the spot in doing his errands. Thinking this activity likely has made the deer accustomed to minimal human activity. I found signs close by including some decent rubs so I feel good about the tree I have chosen.

Hope this is not to much to write here nor wrong place to ask. Thanks! Jim
